The Boys (and Girls) Are Back In Town

Welcome back, folks! It’s a brand new semester with brand new challenges awaiting you. Winter, who also went away for the break, is back with a vengeance, ready to wake you up for those 8am classes. Does it get any better than this???

Yes. Yes, it does. It gets a whole lot better than this. In fact, it WAS a whole lot better than this. Just last week, actually, where the earliest I woke up was 2pm and the most thinking I did was deciding which show to watch on Netflix. Unfortunately, as with everything good in life (chocolate cake, summer, ice cream, chips, pizza, hanging out with friends), our winter break came to an end and we’re thrown back into the chaos that is university.

Second semester isn’t as scary as the first –  we know our way around campus now – but it’s still pretty terrifying to someone who wasn’t accustomed to seeing light coming from something other than her laptop screen for almost a month. Maybe that’s just me though.

Anyway, I’m sure most of you have gotten your final marks back from first semester (unless you’re me – still waiting on that mark, prof, no rush) and I hope they were exactly what you hoped they would be. If they weren’t, don’t worry, you’ve got 3.5 more years to fix it. Though that seems like a long time, it isn’t, so we should all start now. Let’s make this semester even better than the last folks!

I’ll leave you with the inspiring words of one of the most famous soccer players ever, Pelé: “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.”
